Movement Therapy/Yoga is a modality unique to our volunteer, ShivaRam. His lifelong interest in the relationship between body, mind and soul (including not only Yoga but also the Alexander Technique, Rolfing, Continuum Movement, Pilates-Core Alignment, Body Mind Centering and Trauma Therapy) has led to a fusion of movement therapy and yoga. To this end, he strongly emphasizes the power of breath and inner observation. Each student is assisted to find his or her most healing approach based on their body type and individual needs. In order to facilitate awareness of the relationship between self, body and mind, ShivaRam uses breathing and visualization techniques as well as sound healing and intuitive touch.
